As Wellfleet "Blossoms" from winter into spring, we are holding a holiday weekend festival designed to celebrate and feature young and emerging artists of all kinds from Wellfleet and surrounding villages.

The theme of this three day festival  is "Wellfleet Awakens from the Winter," and it will kick off with a gala reception at the Lighthouse Restaurant on Friday, April 13 from 5-7pm featuring the local band “The Trees”. Building upon existing cultural events such as an “Open Mike” poetry workshop at the Library with poet Barry Hellman, a concert by the Cape Cod Youth Symphony at Preservation Hall, and performances by Payomet Theater Group at the Congregational Church, we will encourage and feature exhibits and workshops which present the work of our young and emerging artists… and provide valuable guidance on how to succeed.

An ongoing feature of the weekend will be an exhibit of visual arts selected by our committee at Preservation Hall that will also be the site of several workshops.

Under the Wellfleet Blossoms umbrella we'll include visual arts of all kinds: crafts, performing arts, writing and poetry, the “art” of gardening and more. Unique to this festival will be a free workshop on “How to become a non-starving artist” with advice and practical guidance from practitioners, small business advisors and potential financial supporters.
